Project Description

The Waterfront Innovation Centre will be an anchor development in East Bayfront, home to the companies and institutions that are putting Toronto at the forefront of creating and shaping technology.

The Waterfront Innovation Centre project involves the construction of approximately 604,000 square foot building located at Queens Quay at Dockside Drive (just east of Lower Jarvis Street and Canada’s Sugar Beach). Construction management by Menkes Developments Inc, mechanical by Mitchell Partnership Inc and architectural design by Sweeny &Co Architects Inc. Targeting LEED Platinum Designed by Sweeny &Co – leaders in the architecture of progressive, sustainable workplaces – this cutting-edge commercial facility will create a collaborative work environment that will allow employees to interact and share resources. The Waterfront Innovation Centre will generate high-value jobs in the emerging East Bayfront community and act as a catalyst for additional employment and economic development in the area.

VR Mechanical Solutions Inc. is the mechanical prime sub-contractor responsible for Design assist, BIM 3D modeling, clash resolution-coordination, mechanical contract management, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, fuel Oil system, refrigeration system, mechanical insulation, building automation systems and mechanical systems commissioning.
