Upper Canada Mall

Project Description

Upper Canada Mall is an Oxford property and aiming to become one of the largest most prestigious shopping centres in the area. Anchored by Hudson’s Bay, Old Navy and Gap, the mall’s redevelopment plan includes additions such as: a two-level feature court space, a best in class food court, Sport Chek and a 3,251 m2 (35,000 ft2) vertical expansion. The currently 2,453 m2 (26,400 ft2) Sport Chek will be transformed into a new 5,946 m2 (64,000 ft2) location with an emphasis on an improved overall customer experience. The food court will consist of 25 market vendors including: fresh produce, a butcher shop, a juice bar, bakery and even a gourmet gift shop. The food court will, however be anchored by a full-scale restaurant. The food market concept aims to provide a “quality driven attraction with a strong focus on the local community and will create a unique food experience.”

The design team for the project is lead by Petroff Partnership Architects, The Mitchell Partnership and H&J Inc. Construction Management by Ledcor Construction Limited. VR Mechanical is the prime mechanical contractor responsible for interference coordination, mechanical contract management, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, propane and grease system, excavation and reinstatement, mechanical insulation, building automation system and mechanical systems commissioning. The Upper Canada Mall – Target Renovation is scheduled to open at the end of 2017.
